  Paul Marden

  Managing Director

  Paul is the Founder and Managing Director of Carbon Six Digital. He is an Umbraco Certified Master who likes to think outside the box, often coming up with creative technical solutions that clients didn't know were possible. Paul oversees business development and technical delivery, specialising in Microsoft technologies including Umbraco CMS, ASP.NET, C#, WebApi, and SQL Server.

  He's worked in the industry since 1999 and has vast experience of managing and delivering the technical architecture for both agencies and client side projects of all shapes and sizes. Paul is an advocate for solid project delivery and has a BCS Foundation Certificate in Agile.

  Jo Marden

  Finance and Business Administration Manager

  Jo works in all aspects of the management and organisation of the business. She's responsible for marketing as well as account management of our public sector tendering. She's got a PhD in Organisational Psychology, and has a background in marketing and communications in the Charity sector. She's also got knowledge of managing Umbraco based sites.

  Alex Meyers

  Engineering Manager

  Al is responsible for producing technical design, outlining development tasks required to meet project scope, solution build, test planning and creation. Alongside providing development and consultancy he's also responsible for our engineering processes and the quality of what we do.

  Al is an Umbraco Certified Master, Microsoft Technical Associate, and ElasticSearch Certified Developer, and was our first graduate in BA(Hons) Business and Management Practise on our Degree Apprenticeship Programme.

  Ben Auld

  Senior Developer

  Ben is a full-stack developer, able to code from the ground up, and loves the challenge of creating new systems from scratch. Clean front-end, tidy back-end and beautifully regimented code – best practice is Ben's middle name.

  A self-taught digital mastermind, this WordPress Wizard is heavily involved in project work and  development. 

  Ben's limitless knowledge includes bespoke PHP, Laravel, CakePHP, Wordpress, WooCommerce and more. This guy is a true full-stack developer and all-round good guy.

  Senior Developer

  Jon brings a wide array of skills gathered in an almost decade long career as a Web Developer, skilled in Umbraco, HTML5, CSS & JS, ASP, NET C#, Vue.js, JQuery & AJA, SQL and SSMS.

  As a leading member of the development team, Jon delivers high quality back-end development to meet a varied range of client needs, bringing a pro-active and solution-based approach to projects and problem solving, client management and third-party systems integrations.

  Tom Freeman

  Developer

  Tom joined Carbon Six on our Apprenticeship Programme in 2023 and is working towards his Level 6 degree in Software Development. He has a diverse background in project development and is a full-stack developer who advocates for agile methodologies, transparency and collaboration among customers, product managers, software developers, and stakeholders. 

  Tom is responsible for a range of technical delivery tasks including support, functional and non-functional testing as well as technical support for our clients.

  Matthew Laakvand

  Creative Director

  Matt works with us on a part-time basis having joined from a long stint in an agency setting. As Creative Director Matt works with clients and the team to ensure our solutions are best in class, cohesive and meet the brief.

  He's responsible for guiding and overseeing the creative direction of digital projects, ensuring they align with the brand's vision and objectives in the online space.

  Matt brings diverse experience in the tech space through roles including Graphic Designer and Illustrator, Lead front-end developer and Digital Project Manager.

  Senior Umbraco Developer

  Sean is a full stack developer with an extensive background in Umbraco Back-End as well as Front-End development.

  With skills in UX-UI web design, CMS and Ecommerce, Responsive Coding Sean is strong on producing high-performing and flexible web solutions that can grow with a business.

  Louise Wightman

  Client Success Manager

  As Client Success Manager, Lou provides the link between clients and the Delivery and Operations part of our business, being the primary contact for clients, project planning/scheduling, overseeing a team of developers and managing multiple projects from scoping through to delivery. Lou has an extensive background in Umbraco, Hubspot CMS Hub, Vendr, Hubspot Marketing Hub and Sales Hub, and Wordpress.

  Alex is a full stack developer, specialising in C#, TypeScript and React, with over 13 years of industry experience across agencies, international consultancy firms and product companies.

  Alex is a leading member of the development team, and works on many of our large and complex projects, as well as providing support for existing clients.
